Additionally, manufacturers and other industries that export goods buy cargo-worthy containers. Shipper-owned containers can be less costly and more practical than leasing from shipping lines.

Furthermore, we work with surveyors who can appropriately certify containers for ocean shipping.

We can help you make the export process work.

  • Just-in-Time Retail Storage

Shipping containers also provide storage for additional inventory, particularly seasonal goods, on the back lots of stores.

  • Office Storage

  • Shipping Container Vacation Homes

Approximately four of 10 American adults own vacation homes.

While many flock to cities in Arizona or Florida, Missouri vacation homes are perhaps one of the Midwest’s best-kept secrets. Vacation homes are trendy in Hickory and Camden Counties. Both are among the top 1% of all vacation home counties in the United States. Many are rental properties.

The Branson, Missouri area has been touted as one of the 12 Best Places to Buy a Lake House in the U.S. Approximately 78% of Innsbrook and 64% of Indian Point homes are vacation properties. Innsbrook is outside of St. Louis; Indian Point is near Branson.

People wanting to vacation in the Ozarks often buy and customize shipping containers as vacation tiny homes for themselves or as vacation rentals for others.

  • Shipping Container Homes

Tiny houses aren’t the only homes constructed of shipping containers. Shipping containers are welded together to create luxury homes in and near St. Louis.

The first shipping container home in St. Louis was built in 2019. The luxury home was made of nine steel shipping containers in the Old North neighborhood. In St. Charles, MO, eight shipping containers form a unique 3,100 sq. ft. home of recycled materials.

  • Brewery, Patio, and Restaurant

Rockwell Beer Co. is a brewery and tasting room. It contains brassWell for burgers, fries, and appetizers. It’s located in The Grove, in St. Louis.

  • U.S. Water Transport

It may sound strange to read that shipping containers on water are a novelty. But shipping containers in the United States travel on the ocean.

However, in Herculaneum, MO, plans are underway to create a container port on the Mississippi River. In 2022, the Missouri Legislature earmarked $25 million for the project—about half the money needed for Phase 1.

It would work this way. Smaller vessels would bring goods south down the Mississippi, east on the Missouri River from Kansas City, and west from Joliet, Illinois.

Once they arrive in the new container port, they can travel south in steel shipping containers down the Mississippi River to a new container port in Louisiana.

This effort requires smaller container vessels than those that travel across the sea. The first four vessels and new ports will be operational by late 2024.

This plan may help with supply chain logistics and air pollution. Each river vessel replaces nearly 2,400 semi-trucks.
